Alba Electrical Hastings electricians are fully conversant in all legal certification applicable to your situation. Our team are registered by the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) which means they hold practising licences.

It's our guarantee to be legally responsible for our work, giving you that all important peace of mind on every job we complete. To this end we issue Certificates of Compliance and Electrical Safety Certificates as lawful adjuncts to our service.   

So when you employ Alba Electrical to work for you we will supply you with the necessary certificates. The certificate provided is determined by the nature of the work completed.

Certificate of Compliance (CoC)

Fixed and additional new wiring work e.g if we install a new Hotpoint or light fitting and new wiring is required. 

• This tells you that the work has been carried out in accordance with New Zealand’s electrical safety standards and codes ie by a licensed electrician
• It also shows the work has been tested once completed 

Electrical Safety Certificate (ESC)

 Maintenance work, such as replacing like for like sockets, light fittings or accessories or repairing appliances e.g if we replace a faulty Hotpoint.

• This is a legally recognisable statement from Alba Electrical stating that the installation is safe to use
• An Electrical Safety Certificate is always accompanied by the ESC Symbol
• This certificate also confirms that the electrical work complies with the building code for the purposes of Section 19(1)(e) of the Building Act
• An Electrical Safety Certificate is an important document and should be retained for a minimum of 7 years. 

Electrical safety inspections

The law also requires some electrical work to be inspected, particularly work on the main switchboard, the main cable, and the main earth. We will organise that for you too!
